The history of this extraordinary winery begins three centuries ago. We have testimony of the people and dreams that have inhabited it, a priceless heritage of knowledge and love for the land.
An ancient tradition, which dates back to 1788, as evidenced by the historic stone engraving at the entrance to the private chapel of the winery, consecrated to the Madonna della Pietà, inside which the precious painting of Santa Sofia Patrona di Gioia Del Colle is kept.

Here in 1788, the priest Vincenzo Monte, under the reign of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, decided to build a manor house with a large cellar there, in the hamlet of San Vito in the small town of Gioia Del Colle.
From the very beginning, agriculture and livestock were the activities that characterized the life of this house and above all viticulture and winemaking for the local market, to which an entire wing of the building was dedicated.
